Default Pearl Battery Issue

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Guys!
First of all it's a pleasure for me to finally be a part of your distinguished community!
Now my question:After upgrading my 8100 Pearl to the latest OS version my battery duration was reduced down to a day!!!When i first bought it it used to last about 4-5 days.I tried downgrading it to other OS versions (successfully) but with no results.
Do i need another battery or is there a version that can make it last longer? Please take notice that i use the exact same apps that i did when i first got it (about a month ago),bluetooth is off...etc..
I know you've been really helpful to others and i hope that you'll do the same for me.
Thank you in advance
Phil

After I upgraded the OS my battery life was ridiculously low. However, after a few battery pulls over a few days, the problem seemed to fix itself.

Hopefully yours will be back to normal soon enough.

I'm experiencing a similar issue. I had my BB for about a day before I updated and in that time, it seemed to deplete a lot slower than now. Thanks for the FAQ post, am going to give it a try as well.

Good luck with you're battery issue bro.

sinoriakos - Battery pull means when you're phone freezes up, or something happens in which you pull the battery out to reboot the phone.

it could be you have running programs on all the time but the battery pull should reset all that..... bb are really bad about battery life anyways you could just get a extended battery and see if you like them better.........

i thought about trading in my pearl a while back, but after having a bb nothing else seems to be any good........ maybe a iphone but every rich kid tween and teen has them......

I don't agree with this statement. It depends on coverage, usage, applications running, etc. YMMV when it comes to battery life.

My problem is my battery lasted about 5 (yes FIVE!!) days when i bought it and all this started after i upgraded my OS to a newer version.I'm really desperate...I can't go around with a charger in my hand all the time!
P.S: The apps running are the absolutely necessary (phone, browser etc) the usage is the same as before,so is the coverage.

Well my battery problem is short life now.
I charge it to 100, then in 15 minutes of use.
It goes down to 60 then it turns off the bb, cant even press the on button. I do a battery pull and when it comes back the battery is at 15. Back on the charger it goes each time. I used to run 3 days of constant use before battery would go down to 15.
I've had my pearl since Nov. 2006, with an average use of 500mb/data tethering a month.

Its time for a new battery or wait till tmob comes out with a 3g 8900ish, LOL!
Why 3g, so I can tether data at higher speed.

Hi, I have the same issue.
I've had my BB Pearl for a good year now, and sometimes last week, or a couple weeks ago, the battery just won't last a day anymore (it used to easily last 3 days).
I charge it every night, that's not teh problem, but it only can stay on without a charge for about 9 hours now.

I even tried buying a new battery, no dice.

I have not done any manual update, but my company might have automatically pushed the update. It is currently running v. 4.2.1.96

Anybody else?
