Default Aerize Card Loader..Anyone Try It?

Please Login to Remove!

So this app Aerize Card Loader 2008 - Premium BlackBerry Utility Software here seems to allow you to load apps, games etc to your SD card rather than to your precious system memory. I'm wondering if anyone has tried it yet? I'll give it a trial run once I bootcamp into Windows but I just wanted to put it out there for discussion. Also, on Handango it's listed as Storm compatible, though I couldn't find exact confirmation on the Aerize web site on a quick glance.

Can you load apps you have loaded prior to installing Aerize? Or is it best to uninstall then reinstall to the SD card?

I bought it a month ago and I still cannot figure out how to allow Browser Filtering on my Bold/9000 on a BES, and I am the BES Admin! ---go figure!

So, I never had a chance to use it...

Any suggestions??

I still haven't tried it out. I'm waiting to find out if it's a useful utility or not.

I am a theme junkie I have it, and it does a really god job. I like it that when you do an OTA that it puts the install files on the MicroSD. Love it. It will not reload pre installed apps. You have to uninstall/reinstall first.

Thanks for the input, wundrbee. Having read your post I think I might give it a try. I'll post back with my findings.

Default Not on a Storm...

I seem to think I read that it does not work on a Storm. Not trying to spread bad info - just what I seem to have read in the past. Someone may wish to check this - I know Mobihand says it does, but they don't always seem to have correct model info. I know it will load on a Storm, but working is a different story.

If anyone finds anything different, I'd be interested in knowing.

I'm not on a reliable network right now, but when I get back from Japan I'll check. I was under the impression it was, which is the reason for this topic.
Still, I could be wrong.
By the way, VZW Storm works flawlessly in Japan. I've now traveled to Canada, Europe (North, Western, South) and Japan and have had no problems.

has anyone in this thread gotten the Aerize program to work effectively?

i had lots of apps on my phone already, but then the official app store was released and so i started to install some of the freebies and got shafted with only 5 installs because some of the programs are much larger (bloatware) or something to that effect

anyway, does anyone know if this would work on forcing the applications to install on the remaining onboard memory that is not being used?

1 GB of on board memory - 128 MB is the application memory that gets filled up....instead of installing apps on external cards and such...

like when you go to "memory" and view it, there are three categories "application", "device", and "external media"....

i wonder what the pros and cons are for storing applications on the device memory and if it could even be done if possibly by the Aerize program

wundrbee did. 6 posts up from this one. Seems to work well for him too. I can't wait to give it a try.

Default Not on a Storm...

See his device? It is NOT a Storm.

I had a 8830WE and it worked on that device, but I didn't have the same luck on a Storm.

It has a free trial so I installed it on my vz Storm and it seems to work. It shows you a list of installed applications. Don't click on any you don't want uninstalled. I clicked cancel and it uninstalled it anyway (I'm a clever guy; it happened twice).

On the other hand, that gives you the opportunity to reinstall the uninstalled app on the sd card, which, after a change in permissions for Aerize, went smoothly. The program works just like it did before. I'm not sure about memory benefit as I didn't check before and after.

I've got a week to buy it so I'm going to play with it a bit more.

ok check your application memory usage and device memory usage as well as microSDHC card usage....

i'm wondering how the aerize program is managing the memory and apps because apparently it still has to load the apps to the application memory section to run them...or so it seems from what i've read

For other posters, Jason found some other info that is probably relevant that is posted to this thread http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...mory-card.html in particular the second page here: http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ry-card-2.html Thanks for doing some of the heavy lifting on this one Jason!

you're welcome...hope to find out more information in the future that can help people...

hate to say it, but all this lack of information to be found about the vast memory shortage has made me more determined to start developing for BlackBerry to make the applications that do exist that might help us control our berries much better such as getting a handle on this memory problem...i doubt i can create an Aerize equivalent product, but i'll get an advanced task manager going soon

Well, if you saw my thread here http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...-problems.html my Storm became completely FUBARed for seemingly no reason, so as we speak I'm completely wiping it. But what a great excuse to install .113 and Aerize from start to see what's up. I'll keep anybody who's still checking this thread a summary once I have some info!
