Default Dropped my BB and now it doesn't switch on

Please Login to Remove!

Dropped my BB on a cement floor and only the back cover came off. The rest of the phone was intact.

But when I went to switch it back on, it doesn't. Nothing actually happens.

When I plug it into the charger, it doesn't switch on, but the red light comes on for a few seconds, the goes off, then switches on again. Periodically, the LCD turns white (whilst attached to the charger) and a picture of a battery comes on with a cross through the battery.

When I plug it into my computer, Desktop Manager can'tfind the BB as it doesn't switch on.

Anyone have any feedback on anything I can do to possibly fix this? Or is it a case of eat humble pie because it ain't ever switching back on again?!

Is the battery inserted correctly and making a good connection? Does it look like the battery got damaged in the fall?

Just to add to my original reply - when the bb is plugged in to a charger without a battery, you'll get the picture of a battery with a line through it, so it looks like the battery is either damaged or not making a good connection.

Thanks for the reply.

When I take the battery out and plug in the charger, it does come up with the battery icon with a line through it as you say.

In the meantime, I had a phone technician look at it and use another battery in it which didn't work. He opened it up and said that the motherboard was damaged so he couldn't fix it.

So it looks official....my BB is dead.

That's a bummer. I guess concrete and gravity is a bad combo.

You won't believe this.....I have a look at the Blackberry and the light is flashing green!

I press the trackball and it is working, asking me to enter the SIM!

She's alive....don't know how, but she's alive! Was shut down and not working for a few days.

Moral of the story is that if a technician tells you your BB is dead, don't believe him. These things have got a mid of their own.
