Default Setting an image as a wallpaper

Please Login to Remove!

I've got some nice images to set as a wallpaper, but when I click options, set as wallpaper the image does not fit the screen size correctly (black area's down the side).

How do I rectify this?

A simple solution is to zoom until the image fills all of the screen, then set it as your wallpaper. You will in effect crop the image, though.

Hi Smatty,

did you take the photos yourself with the bold? I'm trying to see what size the photos you have there are..

After zooming the image you can better fit the image by scrolling it. For example: if your picture is of a person ............. zooming may cut off the top of their head; scrolling upwards will bring the top of the picture down.

@PaulPoker - photos taken with the Bold would fit the screen ........... Unless the shooter turned the camera for a vertical shot.

aiharkness's suggestion is the best on device solution ........ otherwise edit with a photo editor and transfer back to device.

They were wallpapers from a cracking thread on here actually - really class. But when I set as wallpaper, it crops the image. But when I open the image in viewer, it fills the screen fine

you could try waiting more than 36 minutes for people to respond. someone may have the exact answer but not log on for another 4 hours.

I was merely stating that sometimes it can take a day before a resolution is posted.

If the image is bigger than the screen size, once selected for wallpaper it will crop it, but show it as correct in image viewer. if you get it to zoom in, and zoom in/out to fullsize and select as wallpaper, it should be the correct size.

Another option if you want to take the time is to resize your wallpapers to the exact size of your screen (The Curve is 320 x 240 pixels). There are some handy free picture resizing tools out there on the net. Try a search for these.

Do you know the dimensions for the bold?

And thanks for the tip

I did this a day or two after I got my Bold, a couple weeks ago. It worked like a champ. The graphic I used was a pretty sweet 49ers graphic.

This Bold is my first Blackberry. I love it.
