Default Adding Themes

Please Login to Remove!

As a relative new Blackberry user, I have made a point to periodically read some of these forums. One of the issues that has peaked my interest is the "memory" problems experienced by some users and the impacts it can have on your phone.

As a result, I have been weary of downloading too may "extra" applications on my phone. My current memory free to total memory is somewhere around the following:

32519193 bytes free
26028301 bytes free

1) What is the optimal memory free to total memory?
2) Do I need to actually select "exit" or "close" when I am in an application rather than just hit the "back key" in order to prevent the application from continuing to run in memory?
3) I have been intrigued by some of the various themes that are available and would prefer to upgrade to one that is a little more interesting than the default one that shows the highway. However, I am concerned since a lot of these seem to consume a lot of memory.

I would love some input on folks on good themes for the 8330 that aren't too memory intensive

4) Do additional applications you download (such as Viigo or Wall Street Journal) automatically move over to a new theme or will these be lost when you set up the new theme and you have to download again.

Apologies for all of the questions. Thanks for the input.

Sorry, quick correction:

Total Memory on my 8330 is 83623936 bytes not 26028301 as I listed in my original message. Sorry!

The 8330 has more memory then older BlackBerries..

The older BlackBerries had 48 MB of memory which was why memory was a problem, the 8330 has 96 MB of memory so memory is less of an issue.

The new BB's have anywhere from 128-256 MB of memory.

you have 26-32 MB of memory so you have plenty of room to play with.

Your fine
