Hey guys!
I am going to get my tour soon but want to be able to use all my old blackberry chargers instead of buying new ones. I would like to keep a spare charger at work and I already have a car charger for the 8830. Has anyone tried buying a mini to micro usb adapter and plug it into the older 8830 chargers?

Also, any brands people would recommend?

Best one I've used:
Motorola EMU / MU Adapter (micro USB adapter)

Google Motorola SKN6252A and you'll find lots of places online that sell them. Amazon has them for less than a dollar but caveat emptor.

I read somewhere that you could find them in T-Mobile stores but out of the nine I called, none of them carried them and most did not have a clue on what I was asking for.

The thing is, you can buy OE Blackberry chargers and data cables for less than the miniUSB to microUSB adapters.

I just bought 3 extra data cables ($3.99 each) and 3 extra a/c chargers ($5.25 each) online, where as the adapter would've cost me $8.99 each.

Where did you buy them for that price?

I'm guessing that the warranty is 90 days...that's pretty standard for accessories. But NJB is right, check the site to verify that.

The reason I ask is if you have to replace several of them in one year it makes sense to purchase from Motorola

You do what you think is right for you.
I've never had to replace a cable, so whether the warranty is 90 days or one year is immaterial.

There are people who pay $80 for an HDMI cable because that's what the salesman in Best Buy tells them to do.

Amazon sells the mini to micro usb adapter for $1.49. Just bought 3 of them. Total cost with shipping $12.45. Much better for me since I have two other devices in my car that use mini, so it's easy for me to use one charger for everything. Also, my digicam and my wife's phone use mini, so we can charge in the kitchen or my office all with one charger.

From this guy on Ebay.

I just received them today and they're all OEM Blackberry parts and they all work perfectly.
