I downloaded bbm 5 on my curve 8310. Everything seems to be working except that I cannot receive all my bbm. The one's I send are fine, but I don't get all the ones that have been sent to me. Any suggestions?

Go back to the one that was originally on your BB, this is a beta version of BBM.

i haven't swapped my bb for a new one.
For this here, you can change the associated email in the 'Edit My Info' at the bottom under 'Recovery Emails'. I did this the first time I installed it. Last night when I updated to OS 5.0.0.130, I had to reinstall BBM5 and it automatically restored all my contacts wirelessly because of that email. I checked in my outlook and it had sent an email to my address (the one I wanted and changed it to originally) that BBM reads to know what that's it's yours. So changing it did work.

Go to your info in BBM and all the way down the bottom.

does anyone have a quick solve for the issue.. where sometimes you can't see what you're typing and later on you get a java.IO.exception error. then the text bar might or might not appear after that.. but sooner or later it will? cuz it gets annoying.. i mean 5.0 is great.. i just wish there's a way to get my textbox sooner >_<

and if anyone knows if location sharing works.. cuz everytime i try to send to my friend my location it says sent.. but they never receive it :/

Go to Options, Advanced Options, Host Routing Table, click the Menu Key and Register now. This will re-register your BB with the network and hopefully solve the problem.
The problems I was having is that some msg's was not going through or it was taking a while for them to go through. Would this fix that? I already reverted back last night but I can reinstall it if I had the OTA link again.

I had the same problem when i first installed it.. I noticed in the application list it wasn't listed so I was guessing that was partially the problem. I also think I got the 4.6.1 version instead of the regular 4.6 version the first time around.

Try reinstalling it. It worked for me :o

I also have the problem of lag in sending the messages. Will try the 'register' solution. Hope this will work.

does anyone here know if you do indeed follow these steps, on downgrading from the downloaded 5.0 bbm version back to a 4.6 version (thats what the regular bold one is) and do the downgrade from the 5.0 back to the 4.6 on a bold, you will still have all your bbm contacts in the program, once the 4.6 is loaded.

hello yes, you will have all your contacts back.
i explain.
you make a backup before you downgrade, so that when you restore your phone you get back all your contacts.

On another note:
anyone have this issue:
i have bbm5.0. i did quickpull, and reset the phone, and noticed my contact list went all cuckoo. and i lost about 6 contacts.
anyone have the same problem? is this going to be an issue all the time?

I have used the barcode to add probably 12 contacts...all work well, must have camera at just the right angle...it's a little tricky at first but it does work...at least for me...
