Exclamation Windows 7-64 and Mass Storage Mode Problems

Please Login to Remove!

Running on Windows 7, I have no problems connecting my Bold and sync'ing. The only issue I have is that Mass Storage Mode is not working properly. The internal and SD card memory are not being mapped to drive letters.

Everything on the Bold is configured correctly. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the device driver with no luck.

Has anyone discovered any information about this issue and a fix?

Regards,
Rob

Have you recently had the BlackBerry unlocked?

Thanks for the reply. No, I received it from AT&T Wireless on my corporate account. Everything was great on XP, but Win7-64 seems to have some issues. (I should have mentioned I have Win7-64. It may be a 64-bit issue.)

My guess is it may require a driver update from Blackberry.

I have an 8900 and no such issues with Win 7 - 64 bit. Will double check at home later.

Have you checked to see if it is a duplicate drive letter issue?

Yes, I did check the disk manager. When I plugged in the Bold, I did not see even a blip of it trying to connect. I think I will try removing all drive letters except for my internal HD and try again.

My only issue is that it cannot see the media disk even after it is disconnected. I have to manually remove the mass storage disk and reinsert for it to be seen again.

I do not believe this is a Windows 7 issue since it happens after I disconnect the device.

Thanks

Tried everything I could think of, including formatting the SD card in the Blackberry. Nothing worked.

For those of you that have it working, what version of the Desktop and firmware are you running? (I have Desktop 5.0.0.11 and Firmware 4.6.0.297). AT&T.

What size SD Card? (I have a 16GB).

Thanks,
Rob

Thumbs up Problem with Mass Storage SOLVED!

I was able to find the fix here. It worked for me.

Who knew that AT&T was sending out refurbished units that had been previously unlocked? Thank heaven for the Internet community or we would all be going mad. :P

There is something REALLY wrong with this story. The only time MSS doesn't work on an unlocked BB is if it was unlocked using software unlawfully obtained from RIM.

An you need to use this patch to fix what was broken in the unlock process. Something dsn't fit here.
