Persons who are still looking to get the 5.0.0.238 OS beta, can send me a PM/BBM and I'll send you a link where you can get it. This link is only good for 14 days, so. Better yet, you can head over to my original report that will have the link at the bottom of the article.

For those that use Slacker Radio: Slacker Radio does not work on OS 5.0.0.238. I asked Slacker when it will be fixed and they stated "not until the final OS 5 release by ATT". So much for getting ahead of the curve Mr. Slacker.

Bluetooth and 238
Hi...first...let me say thanks for the great blog on 238. I installed it about 3 weeks ago and find that its causing my BOLD to run much faster and the response time seems "snappier". Memory is also better. I usually try to make sure I don't have apps running "in the background", which can quickly cause a loss in battery. Especially apps requiring GPS calls, WiFi or even BlueTooth.
So...I upgraded from 4.6.297 (I think it was). It was sturdy and a solid OS, but I like 238 much better. The only problem I'm having is erratic BT support on this OS. For example, after I upgraded, I got in my truck and connected to SYNC (it was already linked with my phone). I made a call, but couldn't be heard. I tried this numerous times, but had no luck. Later in the day, I tried making a call on my BT headset and had the same issue.
I finally figured out that if you make a call, hang up, make another, hang up and then, on the 3rd try, the BT kicks in. Unfortunately, I hadn't figured this out by the time I had removed the phone from the SYNC in my truck.
Here's the weird part. When trying to do anything with existing BT devices in my phone OR trying to add a new device (see my SYNC comment earlier! uggh!), there is NO menu. I can see my BT headset, but on the older OS version, I could move my BOLD cursor over the device, then click the trackball or the menu key and get options such as: "Connect to the device" or "Disconnect from the device", or "search for the device". Now, those options are gone. The BT menu does NOTHING when I click the trackball or hit the menu key.
Back in my truck (meanwhile back in Gotham city), I can search for the BT device, and my truck finds it, but I can't do anything on my phone to accept the connection. Its as if all "menu" commands in my BT area of the BOLD are gone.
Just wondering if you saw this by any chance in your testing. I'm considering going back to 297 until the official version comes out, or I might just power through this. Pondering a jump to 314...but holding tight.
Thanks!

I have not had any issues with BT. However, I don't have "Gotham city" in my car . I was able to connect to my laptop and I got basic menu options but that's it.
I too am waiting on the official 5 before doing any further OS upgrades, as this .238 is very sturdy and most of my apps works just fine.
I was going to suggest that you remove the connection and then recreate it, but I saw that you already did that. Hope someone else would be able to help you out with the BT issue.
