Default Call Log Saving Question

Having moved from a Treo, I find one feature I find odd is the behaviour of the "Messages" folder on the 9530. I have multiple mail accounts, so at the end of the day I've found that clearing this folder completely is nice to start the next day (since messages are left on server anyway) but doing that also clears the Call Log. I've had many instances in the past when I used the call log on the Treo to recall a number from someone I spoke to days or weeks ago.

Is there a way to keep the call log seperate from the "Messages" folder?

That shouldn't be happening. I just tested your actions on my phone and my call log is still full.

Track down Jsconyers, he is pretty sharp when it comes to this type of issue. You may have a box checked somewhere in the settings that may need to be unchecked.

Go into Call Log (Green Phone key) > Options > Logging, and set the option to None.


Also, if you would like to see a complete list of your call log, go into Messages > View Folder > Phone Call Logs.

Thanks, very interesting. When I first saw the call logging options I assumed it was to chose what to log in the call log itself.

In the folders screen you sent me to, I see many In Boxes, I assume one for each email account. Is it possible to change their names so I can identify which email account it is?
