Default Restoring deleted themes

Please Login to Remove!

I used maxmem to do a variety of things, one of them was to delete the preloaded system themes. It said to set my theme to dimension zen before I did the delete, which I did. Now all my themes are gone (guess I should have figured ), but can someone tell me how to get it back? I had done a backup last week, so I did a restore on DM, but it won't accept the themes back. Help!

I thought Dimension Zen was one of the default themes that can't be deleted, but I'm not familiar with how maxmem works. If restoring from your backup didn't work, then reinstall the OS. Should take care of it for you.

ACtually, no, and I've had an extremely frustrating day with this. Not only did I reinstall the OS, but I actually ended up doing a master reset, and it STILL did not work, the themes are STILL not there.

Does anybody have any idea of what I can do? I'm so mad at myself for doing this, argh.

Reinstall the device OS on your computer and then run the App Loader. This will install the App loader and get you going again.

Then play it safe and follow the memory thread in the General Forum. It's safer if you follow the instructions.

When I reinstall the OS on my computer do I have to delete it first? And when you say run app loader, is that on DM?

OK - you now have two threads open on this. Bad form.

You do NOT need to delete the handheld OS on your PC first. Reinstall the device OS (execute the program you downloaded).

Make sure you delete VENDOR.XML after installing/reinstalling the OS. It can be found in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader

Application Loader is part of Desktop manager. As an alternate, you can run a program called "Loader.Exe" which is also in the directory mentioned above.

Okay, I keep trying to reinstall the device OS, it immediately brings up DM and prompts me to plug in my BB, and then it tells me I already have the latest OS on there. So what should I do?

Did you read NJBlackBerry's post above? Did you delete vendor.xml after in installed the OS files on the computer?

Ok, I got it. Thank you for your help. Sorry I double posted, but yesterday I was desperate and wasn't getting much response to my question.
