Default Using BB 8900 sim in a different phone

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I have just been given a brand new Palm Pre. I'm just testing it out at the moment but I was wondering what happens to my email/internet allowance if I use my 8900 BB sim in the Palm pre?

Is your allowance plan phone or sim specific?

Many thanks.

Well, the data would be the same, but the berry has a specific data plan and data prob wouldn't work on the palm anyways. And, the pre is CDMA, and doesn't have a sim card

But to answer your question, plans are to your sim, not your phone

Thanks for the reply Dan. So can I safely resume downloading emails and surfing the web without incuring any additional cost - just like I would do ordinarily on my BB but on the Palm pre instead.

The OP is in Europe, where the Prė is UMTS/GSM, so his card will work.

I'm not sure how it is in Europe, but if your in Canada and you put your sim from your Blacbkerry into a device that does not use BIS, you get charged pay per use for data.

I'd be careful with that. Best bet is to ask your carrier first.
