I have a random new message icon that looks like the email symbol but its google's colors. The only google app I have installed is google maps. It says I have one new message but i cant find it and don't get the google thing.

ahhh, now it says i have two of these. Oh yea, I have tried a battery pull.

oh wow I feel dumb, its from a stupid ebay app that doesn't even let you see what your selling. Ebay colors look alot like google colors... oops

on a side note does anyone know how to delete icons that are not really apps but just internet short cuts. such as facebook, myspace and a weather app/ shortcut that i put on my old phone and the bb software moved to this phone.

Depending on the icon, you can press Menu > Delete. Otherwise, just press Menu > Hide.

I have them hidden but just wish I could get rid of them.

You could use BBSAK and delete the individual .cod files.
