The battery of my curve 8330 suddenly started draining very fast. I charged it and it was full before I went to bed, but when I got up this morning, it was half full. I checked the running applications but no application other than the 5 that are always on were running. Can some app be consuming battery even if it doesn't show they are running? the last app I downloaded 3 days ago is SUPERPAGES but I haven't used it much. Could it be the cause of my battery draining?

I got my BB new in April of this year. So it's not too old

Open menu and select switch application. Scroll through the ribbon and make sure you have closed everything. You may have to check the settings on your applications and figure out what you have that is set to run in the background when closed, and figure out how to truly close or exit the application. After you have made sure everything is really closed, see what happens. Also turn off wifi and bluetooth when you are not using. If your battery is still draining uncharacteristically fast, try a new battery.



By the way, note that certain blackberry applications (browser, messenger, messages ...) are always running.

Thanks for the tips. I already checked the applications and only browser, messenger, messages, phone and home were running. It may have been bluetooth, as I hadn't disabled it. Gonna wait and see.

Does it go to sleep at night or do you leave it on all the time.

Sounds like a data app was open.
