Default Tour 9630 Browser Screen STINKS! TOO SMALL- Anyway to fix for good?

Please Login to Remove!

OK I have searched and searched this with no luck. My new Tour browser screen bites big time. I can't see the font because I have to click a maginifying glass icon at least twice then when I do I have to scroll across the page to read it.
My 8330 curve wasn't that way. I messed with font & settings but it always reverts back to that small p.o.s. screen when I re-open the browser.

ANY help or suggestions on Browser Configuration or even using another browser would be awesome!

If it matters, I have Verizon here in the US.
Thanks all!!

I'll never stop trying to learn to do the things I can't.

Change your default view in the Browser Options to Column View instead of Page View.

Maybe try Opera Mini or Bolt. Those are the only (at this point) viable browser alternatives. I think the issue you're running into is the native resolution of the Tour screen being so much higher than the Curve's resolution. There is no setting to lower the screen resolution like there is on a pc.

Also increase the font size higher. I had mine set to 10 or 11. That was much better than the default.

The default settings are horrible, I cannot believe they send it out that way. My 8830 was much better set up out of the box. I finally figured out how to change it to a more rational display. In what universe does the default settings work?

I second the Opera Mini suggestion. Lots of people suggest the Column mode, but it barely makes a difference for me. It never rewraps the text so that it can be readable without lots of trackball mileage. Opera Mini renders pages in a very readable fashion without ever having to zoom or play with font size at all.

Ive gotten in the habit of hitting the letter "i" twice to zoom as the page is loading. It's hardly a deal breaker, for me, anyhow.

There is a very simple fix.

Open your browser and then open the menu
Select 'Options'
Select 'General Properties'
Set 'Default Font Size' to 13
Set 'Minimum Font Size' to 13
Set 'Default View' to Column
Be sure to 'Save' changes

See what you think.
