app error 523- what is next step ?

i was trying to transfer between my old 8100 and my 8110 using the transfer wizard in desktop manager
for some reason the process stalled in the middle - effectively wiping my 8110 - when I boot I get
app error 523
reset
I think I wiped my unit
what is the next step - downloading device software and following instructions as if I were just upgrading to new firmware -
or is there a unique method for installing OS after a 523 error
