Default Blackberry App World

Please Login to Remove!

I tried downloading 3 apps today, quickpull free, Beweather free, & weatherbug.I get the email with the log on, but when I try to install the app I get an error message "The item you selected cannot be displayed. Do you wish to save the item" (yes/no). When I respond no I get another message, "unsupported media type"application? x-bb-appworld". I'm able to install apps from desktop manager. Is this a problem with Appworld or my 9700?

After spending 2.5 hours on the landline with 2 reps from AT&T and 3 reps from Blackberry (passed me along from one to the other) all we're very nice and tried to help, but in the end they referred me to "Blackberry Apps" website. Before spending more time on hold, I decided to explore this problem myself. One of the reps said that I couldn't download the same app over itself, and they couldn't find any remnants of the apps I had deleted on my phone, so they couldn't figure out what the problem was. I found it!! On the media card there is a directory under Blackberry called "app_world", under that "downloads",under THAT "Your Pin #" and under that the names of the application that I downloaded. I deleted the directory and everything works perfectly now. I can download and install apps from App World without any problems. Hope this helps anyone else with a similar problem.

Hi, I have been having the same problem with my BB 9700. I tried deleting the folder from my media card but still the icon disappears and I am still receiving the error when I try to download the new apps.

Has anyone else had this error??

My experience may be unrelated but I had an issue with Appworld and my PayPal log in to re-download my software due to a replacement of my 9700.

Paypal would not allow me to conenct, in return no Appworld info to be returned back to update my software library.

-make sure that you play with your connection; I am connected to BIS and Wifi
deselecting wifi helped to get me connected to paypal on my appworld which in return
allowed me to get all my paid software back in to my library so I could re-download

-I read that some folks who were on BES and Wifi, deselected BES and were able to
connect.

I would think that appworld will update that particular folder in the media card...when one successfully loged into my appworld/paypal
