Default Travelling with my BB 9630

Please Login to Remove!

Sorry if this question has already been asked, and if I put this in the wrong section, I apologize to the mods.

I currently have a BlackBerry 9630 with a local CDMA carrier. I am almost certain that it comes unlocked right from my carrier (that is a detail, I will have to find out myself). My question to all of you is, I am planning on moving away to U.K, where I plan on using Orange Telecom as my carrier. Would the Blackberry 9630 work with the Orange Telecom SIM card?

It should work fine. I have a couple of users who have 9630's and they use them in their country's (China, for one) and they work fine with their local SIMs.

Sorry, I should probably add, that the CDMA carrier that I am using currently does NOT use SIM cards, they program the phone with the appropriate settings manually. Will this be an issue when I go to try and use a SIM card with the phone? Or will the settings on the SIM card over rule the settings that are programmed manually into the phone?

Mine has worked fine abroad. No CDMA carriers use SIM cards, so the presence/absence of the CDMA vs. GSM network is what drives which system is used.

Stated another way -- stop fussing!

@djm2

fussing? whoe's fussing. I just wanted a straight answer. Sorry I don't completely understand the difference between CDMA and GSM, thats why I posted the question here.

Was it too much to ask to get a straight answer without you being a jackass about it
