Poor Battery Life
Please Login to Remove!
I was able to go two days with my 9700. My 9800 I can not even get through one business day without needing to juice up. We have 10 other 9800s with the same issue. We are in Atlanta. Any suggestions?

Turn off wifi, turn off bluetooth. I found that particularly wifi seemed to consume a lot of batt pwr when I am going in & out of coverage...

Look for incompatable apps and remove them. My battery was horrible but I removed all my 8900 apps and reinstalled the ones that still worked on the Torch and the problem was solve

I deinstalled social feed which seems to be consuming a lot of power. I have now installed be reader which seems to be more conservative with the power. I do agree that applications that are not 100% certified/compatible with the 9800 will do something bad on the power consumption...

Option, Device, Application Management is a great way to see what your apps are doing with your CPU usage on #Torch. Just slide top bar to CPU and see what is going on.
I found out that an app was eating away CPU cycles on mine and the charger was unable to keep up. My Torch and charger were both very warm and I noticed the charge indicator was not showing.
Good luck in your findings

I don't have the Torch or OS6 yet but I have seen others that do and I think this Application Management was one of the better features added to the OS w/o needing to find and install a 3rd party app to do this like in the past.

The issue is the AT&T network.
1. Not happening when users go out of the Atlanta area
2. Happening to all phones, 9700, 9000 and iPhones 3Gs and 4
3. When I set to 2G only battery last all day with 75% to go

Then maybe a 9700 would be better for you since you dont like touch.
Are you switching between EDGE and 3G alot?

I think the 3g sucks more data on tje networks and makes the batterys run shorter, if you undo the chexbox for att it won't die the batterys fast

Sounds to me like you are in a 3G fringe area and the devices (all of them) are constantly cycling in and out of 2G and 3G while trying to find a good 3G signal. Setting to 2G/EDGE would stop the hunting and conserve battery power for sure.

I have BT on all the time. WiFI on all the time. With normal use (for me) I get at least 2 days. With my iPhone 3GS, I was lucky to get 5-7 hours. When I am in a fringe area or where it is constantly searching for a good signal, then life is reduced, but in many cases that is not the phone's fault.

Hmmm, I would not get 2 days myself. BT and WiFi on all the time. Lots of messaging use and some phone. What apps do you hae on all day. For me 2 Rexconnect apps, snapscreen, Kik, Bitly. So which one is drain?

Not running anything esoteric. WX Channel, CNN, Twitter, email, BBM, SMS, WiFi, BT, phone. Not a big apps user.

Google maps does not close when you press esc key, you must choose exit on menu.
I was wondering why my battery did not last long one night.
