Looking to upgrade the girls phone and am not sure whats so different between the two? She can get the Storm for free and the Storm 2 for $80.00. Thanks!

The Storm 2 has double the internal memory then the Storm 1 (256MB vs. 64MB). The Storm 2 has a upgraded screen that uses suretype and the Storm 1 uses the original surepress. The Storm 2 feels more like typing on individual keys and the Storm 1 is more like 1 big button when you press down on the keys. The main difference between the two and the reason I upgraded is the Storm 2 has WiFi and the Storm 1 does not. That's about it.

The Storm I (9530) has been abandoned. The Storm II (9550) will be set off to pasture soon after the Storm III is released.

Honestly, if you are on AT&T just get the girl an iPhone. You'll pay the same for services and kids will appreciate the iPhone far more than a Blackberry. The Blackberry is a business tool and the Storm is not quite there in the Smartphone realm. The iPhone is more of a pleasure toy and your girl will love it.

iPhone is a no go, she loves the Blackberrys. She has a Bold now and loves it. We are switching to Verizon so new Blackberry it is.

Typing in 9550 is a LOOOOTTTT easier, since the 9550 has 4 screen "click" points instead of the only 1 of the 9530.

Memory is double in 9550 (Phone is faster).
