I do not think this is even possible but I have been tasked from our CEO to look into the following. Oh and we are running BES 4.1.6 MR8 so we are behind a bit.

User does a lookup and queries Exchange Server for a contact. Now say that contact does not have updated information such as phone. I then go and update that user in Active Directory. You then have the user go back and look and the prior lookup still shows the old information. I assume that is because the lookup has been cached onto the actual handheld. Thus you delete and perform a new lookup and the updated information is displayed.

Is there anyway around this as our CEO does not like the idea of users having to take the time to perform a new lookup, etc?

Your CEO is one lazy fellow. BES will be busy if it keeps looking out for changes and push them to those contact records which have been looked up and stored on the users BlackBerry. Doesn't make sense to design this way. Try making this sense to him

My BB set up to power down at night. Lookups are deleted every day. So, not exactly what you want, but it does solve the problem of day+ old lookups.

another way to delete lookups without rebooting the phone is memory cleaning under security options. you can either run it manually every time you want to clean up stuff like lookups, certificate searches, clipboard ets or you can set it to run automatically over a period of time (from every minute to every hour).
