For the first part of your post, I agree that VZW is super slow in releasing an official version of OS 6. As far as new Blackberry phones, RIM hasn't released any new phones recently that are specially for Version customers. The Torch is mostly for AT&T and the few other new phones are for other carriers. I still dream of a fully updated Storm 3!

Re: Verizon Blackberry 9650 Update Tonight
I would like a Storm 3 also but atleast Verizon could come out with OS 6 for 9650, what are they waiting for. Maybe they will wait so long that it will get QNIX

Yes. This sometimes happens. Those apps can be retrieved in most instances

We have the 6.0 beta builds for the 9650 in our beta section. The latest runs well and is worth the upgrade

Understood. But at times the beta is just as good as the official. Good luck.

Don't disagree and if Verizon takes too much longer I will install the leaked OS 6. If you have done it what kind of problems have you seen?

PS, installing 6.0.0.280 as we speak on my Sprint 9650 via Desktop Manager... not sure why I did what I did, but I did. Wish me luck, and I'll report back soon!

Re: Verizon Blackberry 9650 Update Tonight
I have seen a 330 version on a sight so you want to install it. Either way would appreciate your comments on the OS.
As far as Android I acrtually had one for a week but had some issues with it and was net very impressed and then on top of that I had real issues trying to sync the Android wiith Outlook (BIS). At this point I am a BB user and will stay that way.

Re: Verizon Blackberry 9650 Update Tonight
well it loaded perfectly (via Desktop Manager), and is just sooo slick! Thats all I can say... its not just the usual updated icons and polishing as going from say 4.6 to 5.0, etc. It's night & day diffeent.
As I'm sure everyone has read, it's mostly all new screens and going between screens and apps is all new. Definitely will take some getting used to. Also, happy to report, seemingly all of my apps are working, my BES email automatically/remotely went through the activation process. Facebook updated, BBM updated to a newer version, etc.
Two thumbs up currently...
Rick

I realized after reading through some add'l posts, 6.0 has been around for a little bit, and I am aware some of the early pioneers have probably had it for a for a while now. I was just reiterating what has already been said as to how cool it is. I was just really reluctant to load a beta copy... I kind of need my phone to work. But to repeat, everything is working perfectly.

What do you mean by retrieved? I can download the app you mean, or download the data that was missing?
I had 10 apps installed. I did the over the air updates. It "somehow" stored the data during the upgrade process (did it upload it somewhere or store it on my media card?) . However, once the upgrade was down, only 5 of my programs had all the data they needed. Other apps (like twitter) had lost all login data and I had to re-enter it.
Any idea why it happened to some and not others? Are the other the air updates safe to run?

I heard 1/19 was the potential date for vzw to upgrade to OS6... so much for that!

Heard that date mentioned myself. Greatly disappointed that Verizon is so slow about releasing updates.

Re: Verizon Blackberry 9650 Update Tonight
I downloaded and installed it a little while ago. It will take some getting use to.
If anyone knows how to get the browser to save passwords I would appreciate the help. I see that it can save password but it does not seem to be obvious on how to use.
