It is impossible for your BlackBerry PIN to "change" unless you switch to a different device.

Something else happened.

Can you give additional details?

And there is no BlackBerry model 8500T. Whole thread is suspect.

i put a random numnber in the model, its a curve that they give me from my work.
What happen was i was chating, then put it down in the table for a while and when i wanted to send a new message all my contacts where gone. After that i re added some contacts but they tell my that my pin its not actually the same, they have me 2 times, 1 with my "old" pin, and 1 with my "new" pin. When i go to the the phone info (i dont know in english but in spanish its "estado") it shows me the "new" pin
I only installed social apps like facebook and msn, and didnt install anything that didnt come from bb app world.
Its really not a big problem to add all my contacts back, may be i will lose a few, but its scares my to think that someone may have stole my pin, or duplicated it.

I almost bet no one duplicated or stole your PIN. No one even had your device and it was never out of your site?

A couple questions:
--How long have you had this device?
--Did you have another BlackBerry before this?
--In your Options > Status (estado) > press the Menu key > Database Sizes. Scroll down to Address Book, what are the numbers to the right that look like "123/56k"?

Sounds like somebody swapped devices when you weren't looking. That's the ONLY way to have a new PIN. The PIN is hard coded into each device at the factory.

Rambo47, I beg to differ with your statement. I have a bold 9000, took it in for repairs and they gave me a replacement phone, new! Restored my contacts backup and it has the same pin. Checked the IMEI no and it is different to what I had.... How do you explain that. Now that is my question, how is that possible. Not complaining tho, easiest transfer ever.

It isn't possible. The PIN is hardcoded to the device and isn't changeable.
Not saying I don't believe you. Well, I don't believe it. No one has EVER successfully changed the PIN on a BlackBerry.

the only way a IMEI is changed is if the Eprom that contains the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) is changed for repair but that is not something normal due to cost of the repair.
As for the PIN not changing, I would suspect your reading the SIM card ID not the PIN. The PIN is also imbedded in the electronics.

Like I said, not complaining, just wondering. Used same sim, new phone, connected to PC and restored from backup, asked if transferring info from one phone to another, said yes and off it went. Didn't have to invite any friends from contact list or nothing..
