is there any way of quicklocking the phone? i find it inconvenient to scroll all the way to the lock at the bottom. thanks

FROM THE HOME SCREEN:
Lock the keyboard --> Hold (*) key for a few seconds.

If you have disabled dialing from the home screen you can usually press "k" and it will lock.

enable "lock when holstered" - it will lock automatically as soon as you put it in the holster.

The 7100 series does not have that option.

Depending on your OS, you may be able to set the custom key to lock your phone. I use OS 4.1 and find it very convenient.
