8700G- WEIRD envelopes on my phone's screen
Please Login to Remove!
Just got my 8700G.. Im in love!
I went to the ICON on my phone that said "SET UP INTERNET EMAIL".. and I changed my PIN on my account to match the 8700G (formerly had a 7105T), and all of a sudden, I get these ENVELOPES that have a little globe on them that all start appearing on my phone...next to all the other icons..
Each one is each of my set up email accounts registed on the MY TMOBILE site..
want to get rid of them on my phone, so that ONLY the original mail icon shows..
Thanks in advance!

Man, you must be psycho (err....I mean psychic). That is EXACTLY the question I had but was afraid to ask. I really don't need all the separate inboxes; further I'm not sure what the relationship among them is and how I can tell which one(s) has new mail.
=NLK=
PS I've got to tell you this, though: I LOVE the speed of this thing.

Alt-click
I think if you hit alt then click the track wheel when over the icon you want to hide - you can hide application and it will not display...
At least in most of the themes...having trouble making it work the way I want to myself in ZEN theme

It works that way in Zen too, but you have to go to Options, Home Screen, and select Organize Applications.

Ah I wish it worked that way in Zen for me. Been driving me crazy all afternoon. When I go in to Organize Applications and hide or move something - it makes the change in the other applications pop up menu but NOT on the home screen itself. Thoughts?

The first 5 applications in the other applications pop up menu are the five that appear on your home screen. It's one system.
If it's not working like this, there is something strange going on with your Zen installation.

Now I have a question about the diferent email accounts that come up on the screen. When messages come in one can see the message icon just like teh 8700c however, I can't find a way to know from which email address they came from. There are 2 way to find out and that is by going to each message folder and see what is in there and the second is by going to the global message folder. I wish there was a way for those email message icons as to which one has emails. Somthing similar to the red star on the Zen theme.

and thanks to tfaz1 my question was ansewred in another thread. here is the reply:
[QUOTE=tfaz1]Actually, as you scroll over each mailbox you see the number of unread messages at the bottom of the screen (next to the mailbox description). Though it would be better if each icon changed to reflect new messages, that way you wouldn't have to scroll to each mailbox to see where your new messages are.

But don't forget, if you send email from the individual folder, it gets sent from that email address. Otherwise from the mail email folder you change the 'send using' to whichever one you want. Pretty cool overall.

So...what if I have residual mailboxes from other service activations? I shouldn't have the mailbox from the dude I bought the device off of... I've deleted the old service books already, but the icons remain.

Alright...this is twice as annoying now. In BBToday, it lists all the mailboxes, even if they're hidden in the application list.

The extra email icons are a new feature of BlackBerry Internet Service version 2.0. I have about 6 inbox icons for all of my email addresses on my 7105t. I just hide them because all messages go to the main inbox anyway.

Yeah, the odd part is I still have residual ones from prior BIS activations, none of which are mine. They never recieve any messages, nor are they listed in my T-Mobile BIS list, but they still persist.
Hiding them is the "easy" way out, but for some reason, BBToday picks them up anyways and clutters the box.
I guess its not such a big deal, and I'll live.
