Default "laggin" on 8700g EDGE connection?

Please Login to Remove!

for the past few days i have been having trouble with recieving emails, IMs PINs, even retreiving MMS content.

i dont know i have anything them until i someone calls me as tells me "you know i sent you an email?"
or for yahoo and google talk, i dont receive IMs until i log out and log back in.

is there a way to counteract this? its becoming very annoying. it was brought to my attention that the the BB series have the BEST push technology, thats y i moved away from the sdk.

any help in aleviating this "bug" will be greatly appreciated.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700g: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

No problems here with EDGE! It is faaaaaaast. You might try removing the battery, wait a few then put the battery back in. If that does not work try resending the service books

Maybe the lag is due to the polling. I get all my emails instantly with 2 accts because they're fwd'd to my BlackBerry but my other 2 accts I have polled and there's a 10-15 min lag.

I am in Albuquerque, and My edge ****in rocks, i think you may be expecting too much speed from your device, i would try turning off the wireless and turn back on for optimal service...

When you don't get data, what is your connection? EDGE/edge/GPRS/gprs/SOS

Well, if your connection is EDGE, then there shouldn't be anything on the network side preventing delivery. Perhaps wipe your device and reload the OS.

Tools - Host Routing Table - Register Now

The 8700g seems to require frequent manual registration to maintain EDGE. I'm hoping that's just because they're still working things out in the network.

I have a 8700G on tmobile and like someone said earlier it seems occasionally you i need to reset I'll check my phone and notice as small "edge". I live in NYC and work on Subway. If i leave it on when i'm underground and then come outside it will search for network and stop at small "edge". Then if Iturn radio off then back on again the phone seems to then find big "EDGE" weird. but the speed is awesome. Before i had a 7100t. Edge way faster. when it's on.

i have a 8700g on tmo in los angeles (beverly hills + mid wilshire). until yesterday, i have had nothing but good things to say about my switch from a treo 650 (sprint) to the 8700g tmo.

i'm use aim (verichat) pretty much all day and yesterday i noticed the connection dropping in and out. today it's been the same thing. i'm sitting in the same spot all day and the edge is basically on full bars or 4 bars at the least.

today it's gone to "searching for network" about 5 times and yes i'm still sitting in the same place. it's actually "searching for network" as i type this. while on verichat typing a message i hit enter only to get a message that there was not signal.

can anyone tell me what the deal is with this as it is getting very annoying. i must admit that with my treo 650 (sprint), also using verichat, also sitting in the sampe spot i am now, i had no problems like this.
