Synch Yahoo Mail with BIS 2.0
Please Login to Remove!
Anyone had luck with this? I keep getting the following error when I try to add an a yahoo account:
"An error occured during e-mail account validation. Please check your information and try again."
Looking at this link, it seems like it should work?

Yep, same thing here, had to use a dummy (no good) email address to get to the second screen, the screen where you add the pop server info, enter the correct info here and you should be good to go.

No go here either...
I was having similar problems initially and got to the second screen.
I tried pop.mail.yahoo.com for the pop server but still no go. If you click on the help, it takes you to the yahoo site where it says you need the paid yahoo plus to make this work. I thought BIS 2.0 was supposed to make this work with free yahoo accounts.
Anyone have this working correctly, without the paid service? Care to share the settings?

Yeah, i tried smtp.mail.yahoo.com as well as pop.mail.yahoo.com; neither of them worked.
From this site: http://mobile.yahoo.com/blackberry
Nowhere do they mention we need Yahoo plus.
This shouldn't be this hard......

Yes, working here. You need to get the pop setting from yahoo!. I have 2 different settings depending on which account it is for. Log into your yahoo! mail account, choose options, POP & Forwarding, POP settings. All of my yahoo! accounts are "paid", I don't know about the free accounts.

Hmm, POP & Forwarding sounds like Yahoo Plus to me.
I can't even login to the Cingular BIS anymore, is anyone else having this problem??

From further reading, BIS 2.0 is supposed to provide integration with Yahoo mail without the need for pop3 access.
I'm beginning to wonder if this is a Cingular problem. Any T-mobile folks out there with BIS 2.0 having any problems working with yahoo mail?

I am also unable to integrate my free account with BIS 2.0.
I currently have my POP and gmail accounts forwarding to BIS, and also had a new icon show up on my home screen with my username mycingular.blackberry.net

I think you're right epark21 - gmail works perfectly, I'm guessing yahoo is supposed to work the same.
I cannot freakin login to BIS 2.0 anymore - i even requested a password, type it in and it says that my login/pass is wrong. WTF! BIS 2.0 is definately flaky.
Who do we call for help on this? I hit "Need Assistance" and i get "Locale not supported for this site".

Its back up - I tried adding the yahoo email and while I no longer get the error, it still doesn't work.
Goes through a couple "processing...please wait" screens, then errors out.

I suspect that this is a Cingular issue. I was trying to set up up for BIS to pull from my Gmail's POP server and it gave me the same validation error message mentioned above. I am pulling okay for my personal domain as well as my Road Runner account. But these two were already set up while in BIS 1.8. In another word, they seemed to be "ported" okay from 1.8 to 2.0. I did not add them after I upgraded to 2.0.

Rumor is that Cingular is not integrating with Yahoo like others have.
http://www.blackberryforums.com/show...ighlight=yahoo
Makes not upgrading a no brainer.

I had the same problem with gmail when I had to goto the second screen. Have you guys tried setting the username to be:
instead of just
username
?
That did it for me when setting up my gmail account.
