M600i on UK network
Please Login to Remove!
One last question for Dover, Joe and estabayl.
Are you using network-provided handsets or unlocked ones?
Mine is unlocked and I wondered if that was making any difference.

M600i in good old Germany
Hi Forum,
I plan to buy an M600i. Since now I´m using a 8700g. The Provider is T-Mobile Germany. We use the Enterprise Solution.
The SonyEriccson Support here in Germany told me, that the BB Connect for the M600i is not Part of SonyEriccson. I have to ask my Provider for the Software.
So I would like to know: Can I use the SIS-File which Link was posted here in the Forum ? Will it be functional with T-Mobile Germany ?
I´m sorry for the bad Englisch - I hope you understand my Question.
Greetings Userle

I have got this working with BES and my M600i after changing from my old device. However I only find that it receives emails only after registration stage and does not get old emails before the activation. Can anyone confirm this or is it something I am doing wrong?
Thanks in advance

Hi Daniel,
Mine is an unlocked phone.
If your phone is SIM locked, and you try to use a different network in your home country, you wouldnt get the network signal, so therefore no data would pass, and you won't be able to send a registration message to BB from the phone.

I think you would be fine. I have tried the sis file from this website and it works fine with both of the phones I have, and they have different phone versions on them I think.
Actually the Sony Ericsson people are wrong I think. I believe with BBConnect that the manufacturer owns the software, not the networks. I know for Nokia, they offer it from their website. I bet Sony Ericsson start posting it soon as well.

Thanks Dover
Mine is unlocked also.
So it looks like it's a Vodafone thing. I'm going to risk switching to 02 and seeing if it works!

As far as i know i setup the phone correctly....
1. Installed the SIS
2. Selected Enterprise server
3. Installed the EXE on my computer
4. Connected the phone
5. THe software on my computer can read the PIN and sends the setting to my phone
I am able to recieve emails but not send, any ideas why??
Many thanks

BBC with BES active on M600i but can't Web browse

The zip contains both versions, for phones with R1A and R3A. I have the latest firmware and it works great on Orange France.
The only thing I am confused about is how do you go on the web when it's connected to BB. It seems to give me can't find page errors. Does anyone have any experience from the older version?
Have fun!

I have managed to get BBC to work fine on my company's Blackberry Enterprise Server using Telstra (Australia) as the service provider but I cannot get the Web Browser to work. Does anyone have any solutions?

M600i come with BB connect pre-install
I just got my M600i with BB connect pre-install. You just need to setup your PIN and IMIE number on the BB Web Client and everything works.

Can you provide details as to where you purchased the phone? Is it unlocked or branded?
Thanks

I just got it from a retail store in Hong Kong. You need to buy the Hong Kong distributer version not grey import. Its unlock and can be use everywhere in the world. It cost me HK$3580 which is around US$460.
It come with BB connect pre-install and a CD Rom with the BB connect software. What I found out is the BB connect actually in the flash rom of the units and you don't need to install it from the CD-rom
It work fine with BB push mail but I still prefer to use my BB 7130g. I found the M600i is very slow compare to the 7130g

I brought the M600i is mainly for for Chinese input which the BB7130g doesn't have. Although the BB connect is there but I will use the 7130g as the main unit and use the M600i as the Chinese input unit. The hand written Chinese on the M600i is very good.

Latest software versions
I was using BBConnect on my m600i for over a week without problems but over the past few days have encountered numerous problems and application errors with BBConnect and other applications on the m600i. (I have a colleague that started using the m600i at a similar time and has a similar experience.)
I suspect that there may be a memory link in BBConnect or one of the other applications but that is just a guess.
I have versions:
Phone: CXC162037 R4A002
Bluetooth: CXC162058 R3A01
Organizer: CXC162071 R3B01
CDA: CDA162011/2 R3B01
Does anyone know of later versions of any of the software? And, if so, can someone please post a link to the software?
Thank you in advance.

seems to me you have the latest firmware already.
This units I have just launch in Hong Kong and I have it for 2 days
my firmware version as follow
Phone:cxc162037 R4A002
Bluetooth: CXC 162058 R3A01
Organizer:CXC162093 R3A06
CDA 162016/87 R2A06
I stop using BB connect on the W600i and back to pop mail. It is mainly because I use the BB 7130g for BB push mail and just use the W600i for Chinese mail. I do find this unit full of bugs. It hang sometime by doing nothing and memory seems to be a major problems. Need to use the task manager to kill process all the time.
By using non-RIM and RIM base units. If you really want push mail and messageing right. Use the BB Devices. Its a lot better than BB Connect.
What I am saying is the W600i is a very good PDA phone but BB connect is just not like the actual BB devices. I have E61 and this W600i and I still prefer the BB devices.

It works
I can confirm the latest firmware (through SE update) and bbc 3.31 work very well, at least with the major service providers in Holland (Vodafone, KPN and T-mobile). I am using BES
By the looks of it it is slightly faster than the old versions, it only takes 5 seconds now to open a message instead of 15-20 secs.
Two questions though;
My calendar is sync'ed with exchange server, but my contacts are not. anyone a clue?
Also my IT department has a security policy that automatically locks the screen. On a "true" blackberry one can tweak this to kick in anywhere between 1 and 60 minutes or something. On the M600i I have not found this setting yet. Any idea if this is at all possible?
Thanks.

Hi,
I installed the linked software on my M600i. Everything worked fine, I got a information on the screen that I'm registered at BB, I have the BB signs at the top, when I open it i get the message I'm connected, but....I do not get any e-mail...I checked some settings, switched on and off and then I found something where you can choose BB Internet or BES. We are using BES (Company). I tried to change the setting (was set to internet), but it doesn't change. The software tells met o connect it to sync station and to press continue...then I should wait for the registration message. But nothing happens...
I know it's a long story, but can anybody give me a hint? I'm using T-Mobile Austria
thanks
Chris

Web Page browsing
Hi,
I would like to know if the BlackBerry Connect will stop when you using the web browser?
Last time, I installed a Blackberry connect on the WM5 phone, when I use the web broswer, the blackberry connection will stop automatically and swtich to use GPRS connection. Therefore, no mail notification when I use Web Broswer?
Will it happen in M600i too?
Thank you very much.

They both seem to run together. No need to disable or pause blackberry whilst web surfing, however not actually tested to see iff emails would arrive whilst browsing.

I know with the Nokia E61 you could send/receive email with BlackBerry connect but not pin. Can you send/receive pins with the M600 or P990? I was told once that with the P910 you could receive a pin but not send one. Just curious as I am looking at buying the P990. I posted here since the M600 and P990 both run UIQ3.
