Good news! VZW has recently deployed EVDO through much of NY state, including Buffalo, Niagara Falls, etc.

Oh man! Thats awesome news! Soon I'll be able to use my Blackberry + EVDO when flying out of the Albany airport, instead of the airports (pay) Wifi!

Where in Albany? I still only get 1X in Albany. I do get EV in Syracuse.

Picked up EVDO from about thruway exit 26 heading eastbound into Albany, took care of some things downtown - EVDO'd the entire time. In Buffalo today, will chime in on how it is out here too.
