Default 8100 on Cingular-has anyone thought...

Please Login to Remove!

that TMo might have an exclusive for 90 days or so? Everyone's talking Oct, but is that just wishful thinking? Look at the Q (yes not a great device) but VZ has a long exclusive on it.

Just a thought, hopefully one that's not accurate as I really want a 8100.

Wirelessly posted (8700c: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

What good is an 8100 without MMS and Yahoo IM? Maybe Carbon Fiber Jack will test the waters or change colors before then. Is blue the new Orange?

no one knows for sure if or when cingular (or any other carrier) will release their 8100 - and i do iterate "if" given the fact that the 7130g is still so new, and unlike most manufacturers, RIM isn't known for rushing new handsets out so quickly.

who knows? cing's new 'berry could be a QWERTY with 3G sans camera...

Default Can you save a copy of your address book contacts to a PC?

I'm trying to find out if you can download the contacts information into a word or excel file on your computer? Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

T-Mo did skip the 7130 and jumped right to the 8100 so it's posible that cingular wouldn't release two new devices so close together, but honestly I would imagine they would want to get it out as quick as possible, I'm sure by Christmas.
The Pearl is so slick that it's going to cause some churn to T-Mo. Cingular's gotta know that and will feel the presure to release one for their customers. Also, I also can't imagine that RIM would look to hurt the largest cell phone company by giving T-Mo too long of an exclusive.

I emailed my corporate rep last week telling him I NEED the 8100 as soon as it is available. I told him that I knew TM was releasing it the 12th of Sept and I assumed there would be a 60-90 day exclusivity period. He responded that he had not heard IF or when Cingular would get thew 8100. He followed that up by suggesting that I look into one of the many new PDA's that will be coming out on Cingular with the Blackberry software. I got the definite "feeling" he was downplaying RIM. Has Cingular reduced their focus on Blackberry handsets??

I question doubt in BG? Looks like TMo will be first to market in Sept. factor a 30-60 day or so exclusivity and late Oct. or Nov. sounds bang on to me.
