Hey I have a question...Can you tether the 8703e to without paying the extra $15 a month if you only use it with 1X and not EVDO? I don't even have EVDO here yet.

An 8703 is 100% worth the money to upgrade from the 7250 because of the form factor and overall appearance.

For people who have not experienced sluggishness (through OS upgrades and installing themes-ie ZEN) the sluggishness is not data performance slowness but responsiveness of the device to trackwheel turns, wheel clicks, or key inputs.
As mentioned by the individual with a test unit his sluggish comment was mentioned with his use of brick breaker.
This may already be understood by everyone but thought I would clarify.

OK, screw the NDA (I still won’t post any pix), but here's what I can tell you, base on my experience on the test unit. Since I am not going to post any pix or anything to prove that I have the unit, call me liar all you want, but take this for granted:
1. It seems still buggy. For one, if I use the browser to visit websites, then I put it down for a period (an hour maybe), when I picked it up again, the browser will reset to the bookmark page. I am not sure if this is a feature or bug however.
2. The device seems bigger and heavier than the Cingular 8700c, that's how I felt it.
3. Maybe it is the software, it is NOTICEBLE, I mean noticeable that the device react slower than the 8700c. (I am not going to post the software version here).
4. The device looks a lot cooler than the Cingular one (appearance-wise).

Just out of curiosity, who are the "most of us" that you claim prefer the "reliability" of CDMA?? I don't know of any statistics at all that show that CDMA is a more "reliable" technology than GSM, and its an indisputable fact that there are a lot more GSM subscribers out there than CDMA subscribers, and therefore its a rather ridiculous claim that "most of us" prefer CDMA - for any reason.

Verizon is always last in product timing, but first in service.

I have no idea who would've stated a general preference of CDMA versus GSM but I find the whole discussion odd. GSM uses T(ime)DMA... and the other major competitor is C(ode)DMA. GSM is a consortiumstandard... 3GSM is based on WCDMA I understand ( http://www.gsmworld.com/technology/3g/evolution.shtml). I almost think licensing agreements with the various FCC-equivalents of the world has more to do with it than technology (at least ~today~). -Pk

Sorry, please don't laugh, I don't know how to send MMS from BB, period. But I do SMS a few times a day. If you show me general instruction on how to send MMS from BB, I may be able to tell you the answer.

I spoke to my account rep. yesterday, I was told the pre-ordered units are shipping from the warehouse on 9/11.
Today I was told the shipment is on hold again but she said she will overnight them to me as soon as the shipment is authorized.
Well I don't know what to hope for now, as a long time 8700c user, I personally don't think I am missing anything major, even they never ship the 8703e.
