Hi, my company just activiated the internet on my BlackBerry 7290 phone and everything is working well. The IM feature is giving me problems so I did a little searching and found that I had to change the APN (which was blank) to wap.voicestream.com. Now it works.
I think we have the Enterprise Server package. They just told us we had unlimited emails and can't make any text messages or we'll pay for the fees. Does this include unlimited internet access and also IM? Or is IM considered text messaging?
Will changing the APN on the phone affect anything (or incur extra charges)? I'm not really sure what it's for, but just know that it makes the IM feature work (with Ramble). I'm going to download the IM program (all in one) from T-Mobile and transfer it to the BB soon if IM does not incur any charges.
If you wanna use aim with no extra charges ramble uses data so that's nit a bad one but text messaging is used for aim clients that come with 8700g phones and data plans don't include txt messaging
Unfortunately T-Mobile will block access to your BES unless you cough up the extra $10/mon per device for the "Enterprise" plan.
We were told the same thing as you, that we had unlimited access. We found this extreemly misleading on their part.
We've filed a BBB claim and an FCC complaint on it, but doubt we'll get anywhere. T-Mobile won't even return phone calls on it.
