Hi There:

I have a 950 handheld Blackberry that runs on a AA battery. Recently battery does not last more than 1 week. Am a small user. Never or rarely use E-mail with it.

What can the problem be and how can I solve it.

I used to have a RIM 950 Handheld blackberry. If you're in an area that's not receving a strong signal, the battery will discharge at a faster rate. It happens because it starts to "search" for a stronger signal transmitter. Once it finds a strong signal transmitter, it will connect to that particiular transmitter and the "search" will stop.

I understand and agree 100% with what you are saying. I live and work in Montreal and signal is strong. 99% of time I am in and around the city.


Am starting to wonder if maybe unit is not snuggle into carrying case and being a bit out screen is ON and this could take lots of "juice". Am keeping an elestic band around now to test it. Guess I will have to play detective.
