Default Outlook express email problem

Please Login to Remove!

Well actually I dont know if this is a problem or not. I use outlook express through my cable company. In outlook I set up a new "mail rule" to forward all emails to my blackberry email. However the only way it will send them is if outlook is open and searches for the email. The only computer I have is a laptop, so i cant keep it open 24 hours a day. Is there any other way to get my email to my phone without outlook being open? I read the "methods of receiving email" thread, but it just says to forward the email.

Why don't you just add your cable email address into your blackberry account?

If outlook can download emails from your cable company, chances are RIM's servers can, too.

Also - and this is serious and not an attempt to provoke or flame - you ought to stop using Outlook Express. Use regular Outlook if you have it, or download something better and free (Thunderbird works well) if you don't. Outlook Express is incredibly out-of-date and a big security nightmare.

As to your main question, I agree with the prior poster - just have your BB use the account. If the Internet E-mail Setup on the phone doesn't work, log into your T-Mobile account and use the Set Up Blackberry Internet E-mail (or similar) link - it gives you a little more control than the phone version.

I didnt know that about express. Unfortunitely I dont have regular outlook. I will check microsoft's site and see if I can get a free copy. If not im sure I can find it elsewhere.

I finally got my email working. This is my first blackberry so im still learning. Thanks for the help.
