Default Nextel just take a dump?

Got blown out of Verichat & cannot access anything with NOL either. I get 'A failure has occurered during the negotioation of a secure connection with the WAP Gateway. Please contact your service provider'. I'm on my 4th day of ownership and already have downtime?!!! IIIIEEEEEEE!!

Huh... an e-mail came through, allowed me to reply, took a minute to send and I still can't access with NOL. Odd. Signal shows a full NXTL so all services are up...

If it makes you feel any better, same thing just happened to me. I get the same error message from NOL and got dumpred from jmirc and verichat. I've been on hold with Nextel Blackberry support for quite a while, so I assume its a widespread problem.

edit: Nextel confirms there is an outage currently, and it make take up to two hours to correct.

Yeah, I checked with another user in the building.. same thing, called data rep and have folks nationwide down. Problem likes in the paket data network... calls & e-mail/sms are fine. Funny, because some programs report bad DNS... wonder if they took a dump but the nextwork itself is fine. Makes sense.

It happened among most of the other carriers also. Nextel said there was a gateway problem. Go figure...

Everything is working fine since about 10:30 pm CST for me and some others I have spoken with.

yes, it was very widespread, I work in corporate and even we had the issue, wasn't just an end user problem.
