Default RIM Runtime code signing key (RRT)

Please Login to Remove!

I'm getting this error, when I try to run the free game available at www.mobile.blackberry.com.

"Error starting RagingRRivers:Module 'RagingRivers' must be signed with RIM Runtime code signing key (RRT)"

I downloaded it without a problem.

Anyone knows what the problem is ?

Um, once the app is built and the .cod files created they then, presumably from your message, must be signed. Now that means someone's got the keys from RIM, loaded them up on the computer where you built the software, and used the IDE to sign them.

EIther someone didn't know about this step or forgot this step. You can deploy (download) them just fine. Can't run them. Oh, they'll also run in the simulator fine without being signed. Just not on the BB itself.

(btw this wasn't my first obvious answer). I thought someone set the IT Policy on your BES to 'disallow 3rd party downloads' but you'd have never gotten it onto the device at all, whether it was ota or using the app. loader. so i would try to do it again in the near future and see if it's fixed..

i would think that the game is signed, though. no one else has complained, and i'm sure atleast someone downloaded that game... ;)

Raging river was the only one of the 5 games that said i needed an activation code after a few days.

I think i downloaded the trial version of raging rivers a few months ago and never bought it and deleted it from my device when the trial expired. Does my device keep a record of an old trial download and it thinks the new one is another trial version to expire?

Is there some way (simple) to clear this up?

i believe it does keep that information, if i remember correctly. kind of like how you cannot just simply uninstall and reinstall VeriChat at the end of the trial period (not that i ever tried that... hehe).

i believe you can empty something in the Backup/Restore function to remove these entries. bfrye (or someone) mentioned the perceived location at some point in a thread on here.

Go into Desktop Manager
Go to Backup/Restore
Go to Advanced
Highlight RMS database on the right-hand side
Clear RMS database

Here is the answer if you downloaded a magmic game in the past and cannot download the free ones because your device remembers that you downloaded a trial in the past.

FYI- programs that need an activation code (e.g. Webmessenger, Verichat, etc...), you need to put in the activation code for the programs again .... ;)

Pay for your sw guys...
