Question Anybody figure out the Bluetooth volume issue?

Please Login to Remove!

Anybody figure out a solution to this yet? I have a 7100t and ever since upgrading to 4.0, the volume is significantly lower (as many of you have pointed out). Short of reverting back to 3.8, any solutions on the horizon? I have a Motorola HS810. Does this happen with all bluetooth headsets and 4.0? Just curious. I would be willing to invest in a new headset, if it were considerably louder. Thanks

I'm with you miami. This has been extremely frustrating for me...

I have tried multiple headsets with the Jabra BT 800 being the most recent - same issue-.

I am hopeful a software update will resolve this in the near future....

Other carriers have realeased new versions of 4.0 and some people are saying that those versions improve the BlueTooth volume issue. As usual, TMobile is WAY behind the curve. I have not tried installing the other vendors software but many others have. Do a search for more informaion.

I may just wait for Tmobile to catch up and for this to be a specific fix in the firmware. I hate changing firmware because something new always comes up. It is just a bummer that the Bluetooth was great and loud just last week when I had 3.8. That's life!

Go ahead and try the Cingular or Rogers versions. To be honest, I doubt TMO will update their software, or when they do, it will be the same version that Cingular and Rogers are at now. Just uninstall your current version (from your PC) and then install the new version. Before you open Application Loader, delete the Vendor.xml file from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader\. Open up Application Loader and install the OS.

I haven't really found any bugs, and this could be the fix to your own. The difference between versions of TMO vs Cingular vs Rogers vs Whomever Else is none, unless they add something to it (i.e-O2 and TMO both add themes, all of which can be found on this forum for download, just in case you do lose one during a cross-provider upgrade).

That is a reasonable alternative. Do you have one of those updates versions and do they seem to fix the bluetooth issue for real?

I tried using the latest Cingular and Rogers 4.0 upgrades, and still had the same issue as with T-Mobile's 4.0. I'm back to T-Mobile's 3.8.

That is interesting. I haven't tried yet because I decided that it wasn't bad enough to warrant the overhaul. I really only use the bluetooth in the car now, however, because it is unuseable. I am sorry to hear that the other firmware didn't resolve the situation. I guess we just have to wait for a fix. Thanks

I just received my new 7100g & I brought my Motorola HS810 BT over from the Treo 650 I just got rid of. The 7100g obviously has 4.0 and the HS810 works with it just fine. I also have to turn the volume down a bit on the ear piece occasionally.

By the way, the speakerphone capability on the 7100 is FAR better than the Treo 650 !! So far, I'm delighted with my decision to switch to the 7100g !

I use a Sony Ericson HBH-660 and ALL my problems went away with 4.0!

No more resets or bluetooth drops... VOLUME is perfect (if anything sometimes too loud).
