I like the size and SureType seems to be working as advertised thus far. It is light which is good and has all the familiar BB features. The screen is an improvement. My only small grip is that it appears to be slow at times?

I was anxious about moving from a Treo 650, which I had for about 3 weeks (not supported by my company I find out after buying it - duh), to the 7100g.

That concern lasted about a day after receiving the 'g'. Yeah, the keyboard takes a bit of practice, but pales in comparison to the effort to learn and use all these terrific short cuts. so if you like short cuts, and are willing to learn them in order to be more productive, the keyboard is SO not an issue !! other factors mentioned are terrific too - light weight, great screen, dedicated (easy to use) phone functions, good blue tooth (for audio), etc, etc, etc,

My 7100g is my baby, hehe. This is my first BB. I had a regular cell phone, and Palm, AND an ogo (the text message, email thing thru ATT/Cingular) so needless to say, my purse was a lil heavy I love my BB, and i sure don't mind the keyboard. Ive been anavid text messenger for a couple years so the keyboard sure isnt a problem! I just need to get all the lil shortcuts down and I'll be set!

the 7100t is my first blackberry i was a t9 person b4 .. i send on an avg about 3000 text messages a month.. i went with a blackberry over a sidekick becuase it lets me use my bt headset.. after a week of usage i love the keyboard.. suretype owns.. expecially after you teach it words, i use alot of slang and i just tought it words
i just wish like others here that the bt stack was opend up.. but i can see where security would be a problem.. maybe atleast the dun profile :-/ but thats neather here nor there.. i'm in college so i'm proly abit younger then most of the crowd here so maybe thats why i like the 7100t over the traditional bb's

Just to kind of wrap up the thread I started here, I ended up ditching the Nextel (both 7510 and 7520) and went with the 7100g. I love this phone, small light, and Cingular in my area is much better than Nextel. But I love the phone, the screen is great (except in the sun but thats another story) love the functionality and is a great piece of hardware. The suretype took me all of 1 day to get used to, now I am just as fast if not faster on the suretype than I was on the QWERTY.

All in all a good move, and I highly recommend the 7100g.

Not sure how you type but I just typed congratulations in my 7100t 4 times in 15 seconds and it came out correct each time.

I love my 7100t and I love sure type. The phone form factor + great screen + suretype that learns a it goes made this phone (and yes it is a phone not a pda) Ideal for me.
