Maybe there is a BES policy preventing you from getting it. The BB server is working good for me on T-mo.

Unless its possible for corporate policy disables installs but permits use, I don't think so, because I have friends who are using Google Talk on their BBs right now.

I am the BES Admin of ours and this is not the problem. I installed on all 4 units last week (we switched from Nextel to Verizon). My boss dropped his 8703e in between his seat in car, could not reach, got out, moved seat up and CRACK!!!!!

Just got the replacement this morning and that is the message I am getting (see above).

So it is CLEARLY not a BES problem.

BTW - I have it installed on mine, just went to www.blackberry.com/googletalk and it says HTTP Error 404 Not Found. Something is going on.

Forget - Mine navigated to it.

Still get error, after excepting user end agreements. The error is at the start of download, both via BB connected to PC and via BB Browser.

I'm getting this error message as well maybe this info will help

When installing (either OTA or Desktop Mgr) I get "Error: Invalid manifest or application descriptor." This only happens on newer version of the BlackBerry OS and is due to an error in the xpeclient.jad or xpeclient.alx file. To correct, either delete the text "(build xx)" from the two files or download the files again from our website.

Default Getting the same error on gtalk installation

As soon as I click on Accept link on agreement during the download process ... i get "Error: Invalid Manifest or Application descriptor"

I was using gtalk in the morning on my blackberry but it was giving me weird issues; so i thought of reinstalling it and fell into this mess.

Glad I'm not the only one having this problem...
Sampsoncotech, are you saying to find those files in the os once it's installed on the PC, change them, and then re-install the OS?

I'm on TMo and having the same problem.
I had it installed and decided to delete and re-install in but having the same problem.
Can not download from google or blackberry.
I have no problems with the web browser and my APN settings are all correct.
Just can't seem to DL.
On the Blackberry site when I select Download it just refreshes the webpage.
I have the latest OS as well.

I was able to download it today with my Cingular Pearl.

What I had to do was go to blackberry . com/GoogleTalk with the browser. I then had to select view in HTML at the bottom of the page (I'm assuming the browser tries to simplify the page for the BB width). After I did this I clicked on the download link. I had to do this a couple of times because I got the 404 Error pop-up. Once it took, I was able to OTA install gtalk.

Hope this helps,
sonny
