I've been flipping through my 8703e looking for an setting to turn off email gathering/pushing between a configured time. I swore I saw a setting the first day or two I had the device but I can't find it for the life of me now.

Any ideas?

Go to Options > Auto On/Off

I believe this will also do the phone too.

ah ha, thank you. Now my girlfriend will stop wiggin out when it vibrates in the middle of the evening

And that will shut off the phone and text and all other data functions..

If you just don't want it to notify you then you can turn off the notifiers under profiles. Specific instructions depend on which model BB you have but you just need to edit your profiles. I generally charge mine on my nightstand so I turn it to the "phone only" profile. That way emails don't make noise but if someone calls me (I'm on call often) the phone will ring. You can edit each of the profiles to do whatever you want. You can even create your own.

That does help out a lot. My 8703e is data only and using the profiles I think is easier for myself than configuring the Auto On/Off settings.

ahhhhhhhh, okay, I was wondering how it would shut off only email access. I'm looking into the Profiles route now. The device is data only, but I do tether at random times.
