is there a way to have the keyboard lock automatically happen after a specific time. i dont always go through the menu to lock the keyboard and i put it on the homescreen now with ZEN theme, but it would be nice if it had an option where it did it automatically. thanks.

Don't believe there is. I have my side key set for keyboard lock though so it works out nicely for me.

I press the "* key" for two seconds and lock my keyboard

On my 8700g the keyboard locks after the time I set it for (10 min.) only if I'm using the password feature. Come to think of it, it was the same on my old 6230. See Security options.

on the 7100i options, seurity options, general settings, then you can set it to lock when you holster the device. Thi might work for you.
