Default Syncing BB (BIS) with Two different Outlook

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,
I have BB (BIS) and I sync my BB with my home computer and office computer using outlook 2007.
The problem is that when it syncs with one outlook, it doesnt update the same things on the other outlook as well.

If I change the status of task or a number in an existing contact in office it updates it on my BB but when i sync it at home it doesnt update it on my home outlook. Same is the case with making changes in Notes.

It only updates if there is a new task or contact or note or appointment but how do I get it to update any changes in existing entries?

Any suggestions?

Default Synchronizing with MS Outlook 2007

BlackBerry Desktop Manager does not work with MS Outlook 2007 at this time. Connect your blackberry, double-click Intellisync, click Configure PIM, now try to point Intellisync to your MS Outlook profile; notice that when you click browse, nothing happens. I have tried this with Desktop Manager 4.1 and 4.2 and I still get the same reaction from Intellisync. If I find a fix, I will update you.

Bad info, my friend. I'm using MS Outlook 2007, and syncing to 2 computers. The latest desktop manager worked for me with no issues, but previously, I had to install an old (Pre-4.0) desktop, setup the sync, & upgrade. This tricks it into working.

I had the issue with them not syncing between, and just reinstalled DM 4.2 -- fixed it right up.

Greetings and Welcome to the Forum.....

I have the exact same setup and here is the answer to your question.
Follow these instructions carefully and you will be up and running easily. Please notice that one of the most important issues is that you have downloaded and are running the latest version of the Desktop Manager which is 4.2 which can be downloaded direct from the RIM site.

Here's the procedure.
1. Download ver 4.2 Desktop Mgr (unless you already have it)
2. Launch the desktop mgr.
3. Double click on Synchronize
4. Click on the Configuration Tab
5. Click on Configure Sync button
6. Under Handheld Applications be sure that Address Book, Calendar, Tasks have check marks in the boxes and are setup as follows below.
7. Click on the Choose button under Address Book
8. Under "Available Applications: be sure that MS Outlook is highlighted.
9. Under "Operation" click the Synchronize radio button.
10. Now click the Configure button in the lower right below the Address Book field.
11. After clicking on Configure, choose Advanced Settings.
12. Under Confirmation Tab, be sure both boxes are checked.
13. Under Conflict Resolution Tab, be sure "Notify me when conflicts occur is checked. (radio button)
14. Under Filters Tab, be sure that <None Selected it checked>
15. Then click on the OK button on bottom left of window.
16. Click on Ok under Device Config Window
17. Click Close under Configuration tab.
18. Your finished.

Cheers..............

Tried BB Desktop 4.2 but still having sync problems between two different computers.

In Tasks, I face this problem almost every day. When I mark a Task as Completed on my home computer, it is synced with my BB but when I connect it to my office computer it doesnt mark it as Completed. I have to manually do it.

Same is the case with Memo Pad. It doesnt update thru BB if I make changes on one computer.

Similarly, if I make changes in my BB it is updated with the first computer I sync it with and not on the other computer.

I have just the opposite problem. I would like to use my home computer to charge my BB but don't want to load the desktop manager because I dont want all the companies stuff sync'd to my home computer nor do I want all the stuff in my home computer Outlook (contains a lot of stuff from my former job) to my BB to then be sync'd to my corporate Outlook.

Is there any way to keep the BB from sync'ing to my home computer if I plug it in just to charge?

You will need the BB device drivers found in the Desktop Manager in order for the USB cable to charge your BB correctly. You can load DM to your home PC, and in the synchronization setup, make sure the sync is NOT set to automatically occur on plug-in. Further, you can completely kill the sync by deleting any pre-set sync to Outlook. Simply remove the Outlook settings in the sync setup.

You will get the charge without the sync. Good luck.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

I know this thread is pretty old, but I'm having the same problem. I'm trying to use my BB as the middle man between my work outlook and home outlook. A change in one outlook followed by a sync with the BB is not picked up by a sync with the second outlook. I'm using the latest DM from RIM (SP2). Has anyone found a solution to this?

Possibly I've missed something in one of the threads (which would not be too surprising), but it's not clear to me if anyone has had any success in syncing their 8830 to two pc's using BIS and BIS only. I work from home and can't afford BES. However I travel and would like to sync my 8830 to my desktop at home, as well as my laptop for on the road. My laptop can be read-only (if necessary), I just want to be able to look at my calendar on a bigger screen than my bb when working with schedules on the road.

Does anyone know if this can be done. I was told, by a tech guy at Verizon, that this would create all sorts of issues. Is this true?
