Question Security & SRP

Please Login to Remove!

If you move a user from one BB Server to another BB Server, the user needs to re-cradle. Only if the second BB server uses another SRP.
So, is there a relationship between SRP and the encryption key of the BB device ?

AFAIK, the BB device generates an encryption key (mouse moves) and send this key (over the LAN) to the BB server, the BB server stores this key in the users mailbox.

When I move a user from one BB server to another BB server why have they to re-cradle, since the encryption key is in de users mailbox ?

any ideas ?

This only applies to BES 3.6 and below. With BES 4.0, you no longer have to recradle after an SRP change (in theory; I get to test this tonight). The reason they have to recradle is because wireless provisioning (wireless activation, wireless key generation, etc) doesn't exist within the 3.6 environment. This is yet another improvement for the 4.0 software and a reason to upgrade.

FYI, this is not the case with GroupWise BES yet. It will be fixed in SP1 though.
