Question Unlocking my Device???

Please Login to Remove!

I recieved my T-Mobile BlackBerry Pearl replacement yesterday and I contacted T-Mobile to get my unlock code to use with Cingular. I told them I need the unlock code because I go to Canada alot and I use Rogers Sim Card in my device. I just got an email from them saying they are unable to process my request because my account is overdue urghhh Anyways yesterday night I called Cingular and requested an unlock code and they submitted it. I am currently a Cingular Customer. I gave Cingular Customer Care my T-Mobile IMEI # and told them I travel to Canada alot blah blah blah and the representative submitted my request. Im just curious how long does it take to recieve the unlock code from Cingular. They submitted the request at about 5PM EST. Do you think it would matter since I called TMO the same day at 11PM??? How long would it take for me to recieve my unlock code from Cingular???

Thanks,
Joseph. (GQ NYC)

The IMEI will identify it as a T-Mobile device. They will not unlock it.

I would contact one of the sponsors here or GSMPhoneSource - they have unlocked 8100s for me.

Wirelessly posted (7105t: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

I know that when I've requested unlock codes with T-Mobile, I've always received them within 24 hours. I'd think that it'll be the same at Cingular as well.

I don't think it matters. TMobile says the wireless radio is supposed to be off when you enter the code or you can "damage the device."

I called Cingular about 2 weeks to get the unlock code but to no avail. They told me that the code was emailed to me, but i never got an email. I called them again last week and have yet to hear from them. They did give me some codes on the phone, but none of them worked. I dont think that their CS knows what they are doin (ex they gave me my imei # thinking that it was the unlock code).

If you have proof of delivery and that they received the SideKicks they could not ignor it. Maybe more to this story?

Agreed, got to be more as there is no way I would allow T-Mo to say they did not get them when it shows they signed for them

GOT to be more to this story.
