Default myfav minutes and mail plan - someone confirm?

Please Login to Remove!

Okay, so I signed up with the myfavs minutes and mail 1000 plan for 69.95. On the website it says this includes unlimited text messages, however, when on the phone to change the plan the girl told me text messages were NOT included.

So, my question is, does it include unlimited messages or doesnt it?

myFaves BlackBerry Minutes & Mail Rate Plan: myFaves BlackBerry Minutes & Mail details is the link to the plan which states 'text messages are unlimited'.

I don't think it does. It might for those 5 people. I still have my text message plan on there.

I actually just ordered it a little while ago. So soon that I have not received the text message yet. I figured it makes sense for me. I don't know anyone else that has T-Mobile. So having the ability to call unlimited to 5 outside network people is good.

Does the 5-way callers show up on my home screen? or is that just for Illustration?

I was under the assumption that the SMS and MMS is not included with the 5. I am not a big text message person. I just use the phone number and the email address for the carrier and it works just as good.

Well, I just called yet again, and after holding on the phone for sometime, messages are unlimited and you do not need to have an additional message plan as long as you have the blackberry minutes and mail myfavs plan. The rep was extremely nice and apologized more than enough times saying that it is a new service and not quite everyone is up to par with what is included yet they should know that information before making it available to the public.

The conclusion was she removed the additional messages from the plan.

Now, I get to sit and wait and see if I start getting charged for messages now or not hahahaha. Still might be making another call back to them.

this is the original 1K BB Minutes & Mail plan, with the MyFaves feature added at no additional cost, and without a reduction in other services or minutes (like the standard voice-first MF plans).

all things considered, i'm surprised (pleasantly) that they made this specific plan available. considering it offers over 3 times the voice as the basic MF $39 plan, even were you to subscribe with the $19.99 BB add-on, this is an incredible value. t-mo could have strongarmed users to that plan combination, bumping ARPU and feature-adds.

...

the confusion regarding messaging may stem from the terms "text messaging" vs "messaging". since t-mo has (smartly) created their you-call-it bundles, efforts to not differentiate have led to confusion inside the ranks, although there's no good reason why the agent you spoke with couldn't identify the clearly-described, included text messaging.

...

i've been using 1KM&M for several months now (after they finally revoked my employee plan) and only picture messaging generates adverse effects. receiving will send them to your t-mo pictures account, where handset retrieval is a pain, and sending them will incur the $0.25 PPU charge.

i don't yet have a pearl, so i have no first hand experience with the image sending choices, but using this plan - in my experience - "Send as MMS" will cost you a quarter. it may be a month or so before bill detailing can show how the pearl handles MMS costs, in relation to this manner of messaging.

thanks Penk... yes, I was thinking that mms might be extra, but just regular sms were fine as, well, those ARE true text messages. So, I should be good to go.

If I notice that text messages are being charges on my account I will let everyone know, but I'm thinking they wont since its part of the minutes and mail.

I called T-mobile customer service, and they said I can't add myFaves service to my BB M&M 1k plan. Can anyone shed light?

You are correct. I tried this a few months back and just again today after seeing this thread. Its one or the other.

I would be curious to see a screen shot of someones MyTmobile account page showing both the 1000 M&M plan with Myfaves.

I have the blackberry minutes and mail plan 1000 for 59.99.
-Unlimited SMS
-Unlimited Email
-Unlimited data,GPRS & T-Zones.

Only thing it does not include is MMS for sending pictures. Although, if you have a pearl, you can simply attach the picture to an email and send it without being charged extra.

TMo is cheap dude... don't include MMS? Give me a break. You could email it, but tmo should include it in the BB plan..

Honestly, it doesn't phase me that MMS is extra, I don't send too many picture messages anyways.....and if I do, I can just attach it to an email.
