What processor does 8800 series use? Faster or slower or same as its precedessor 8700 series?

Which is why the whining over lack of 3G is silly. The processor is the limiting factor in web page rendering. Unless you're tethering, there's really no benefit to 3G (or even EVDO over EDGE).

8800 is a transitional device as far as specs, features and design go, no ground breaking advances from 8700.

the next wave should impress us....i hope!

I am not sure I see it that way. VAD, GPS and media are pretty good improvements IMO.

Agreed, aside from gps and some small software improvements whats so breathtaking? dont get me wrong, i'll still have one day one but really???

8700c was ground breaking since its CPU was so much faster than the 7290 it replaced (and a bunch of other niceties). 8700-->8800? No so much so. But the trackball sure is nice. So is the slimless (borrowing from the 8100c Pearl).
