Cool FYI, Getting voice commands by a Bossy Dominatrix British Chick :)

Please Login to Remove!

Just thought I would share that all my friends who have voice recognition on their Razrs and Slvrs are all jealous because my 8100 has a British Accent .

Heres how to do it:

Menu--> Options--> Language--> Language: English (United Kingdom)--> back--> Save changes.

Then from your home screen:

Menu--> Options--> Voice Dialing--> Sensitivity to -2--> back--> save changes.

Finally from home screen:

Menu--> Options--> Date/Time--> Time Format: 12hour-->back--> Save changes.

That being done access your address book, it'll take a minute to rescan and you'll be set.

The only thing in your Pearl that is now differnt is that in Options instead of Language your pearl will now show Localisation. Because you reset the Voice sensitivity to -2 your Pearl will recognize your Yank accent perfectly.

Your Pearl's Voice Dialing will now be a Bossy Dominatrix British Chick

Just that that was pretty cool. Sorry if its a repost.

Sounds good (dominatrix British chick) but you will probably find your SureType will spell tire, tyre and center, centre...etc.

You can just change the Voice Dialing Language to English (United Kingdom) and leave the others set as English (United States) and you will get the British chick talking and your words will be spelled properly...

I love this thread title. I have noted it in my 8800 tips sheet. I will eventually add it to the 8100 tips too.

Where's the option to just change that? Then I presume you set the sensitivity to -2 so I recognizes the US accent as well.

Default Don't have English UK!?

Damn, I went to Language, and it just displays English, English (US) and Italian (this last one b/c I recently upgraded my OS and remember ticking the box next to it so I could type in that language).

Why doesn't English UK show up?

I'm in Canada on Rogers OS v. 67.

If you don't have the language option you want, go into your Desktop Manager and check off the different language packs. I had initially removed all of them and added back the UK one to see how it was.

Thanks for the neat tip! I just did it, but not as you mentioned above.

Under step 1, under Language, there are 3 places: Language, Input Language and Voice Dialing Language. Why change the first one? I just changed the Voice Dialing one, and it works fine. Left the other 2 as English US. This way the option still says Language too, not Localisation.

^lol I didnt even notice it. I was pretty toasted at a party and sorta did it on a whim. To my surprise it worked.

I gave my friends all dirty names, I was just really trying to make the British chick repeat the names

And it worked!
