Question Help with IT Policies and "Password Required"

Please Login to Remove!

I have configured the following two parameters using the IT Policies :

"Password Required" : True

"User Can Disable Password" : True

The "Password Required" fonction works properly but the user does not have the option to disable the password.

We are using the Blackberry Enterprise Server 4.0 for Lotus Domino. The Domino server is using version 6.5.3.

The handhelds are wireless.

Does anybody have any idea on how to fix this?

Thank you in advance!

Seems to me that those two directives contradict each other. If a password is required... how can a user disable it ?

I don't think both of those can be True.

From what I have been doing to research getting my BB back without a policy you need to make the PasswordRequired {default} instead of PasswordRequired {policy} as True. You may need to first push a PasswordRequired {policy} = False first in order to do the default. This is all based on using a policy.bin to roll out your security.

i agree with penguin. thats like saying 'you are required to jump up in the air, but you don't have to leave the ground'...

What's the point of having both of those settings at "true" ? You may as well leave them alone, the two essentially cancel each other out (assuming your users know how to disable the password requirement locally)
