Default IT policy problem

Please Login to Remove!

Ok I have a big problem now, the phone wont let me use certain programs more specifically third parties ones. I've called T-mobile numerous times and they said the only thing that I can do is to contact the seller of the phone and have them send out a blank IT policy as they called it. I tried the whole changing the policy file that is stickied on the top on the forums. Basically the previous owner may have used this phone as a business phone and had certain functions disabled by their company. Does anyone have any information to help me out? I've searched and basically I need a blank IT policy because I highly doubt the person I purchased this off of on ebay has any idea at all about whats going on... Please help

I did everything mentioned however I still have an issue with the firewall. When I run lets says opera mini for example it says the app. is trying to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your IT policy. The phone wont let me disable the firewall and it always says enabled and has a small little red lock by it. The tmobile rep. said that even though I did the whole policy file thing, certain things remain intact and the only way to resolve this was to have a blank IT policy sent out and go from there.

btw thanks for all your help on this and the other post Sarbin

Happy to help where I could. Unfortunately, I got nothing else for you on this one. Hopefully some BES experts will be along shortly.

well atleast I thought I did it correctly however looking back now on the FAQ I dont remember seeing the policy manager folder inside of the blackberry folder... Not sure, would it work if someone sent me a copy of their folder and I just used that? Sounds dumb and doubt it would work but anything is worth a try at this point

I have done it multiple times.

FOLLOW THIS WEBSITE

Unlocking the Blackberry

Make sure you,

1) Download the latest handheld software.

2) DELETE the old one. REINSTALL THE NEW ONE.

3) Be sure that the policy is removed by going to Options --> Security

4) Make sure the reg file is changed as shown in the instructions.

You will KNOW that the IT policy is removed when you see a standard RIM screen when the phone is locked.

I already tried that however I still get the same firewall error when I try to install opera mini, or use any other 3rd party apps. I dont believe I had that policy manager folder.. Heres a picture, poor as it is it shows the red lock next to the firewall setting which says enabled and it wont let me disable it
