Please Login to Remove!
Just thought I'd get the rumors flying as early as possible
Will the 8300 have video recording or not?

pretty much every camera phone does these days so I think you can safely make that assumption.

Yeah- you would think with a phone this advanced it would have video recording. But you would also think the music player would have a way to save and create playlists.

I hate to remind people of this, but features are ordered by the carriers, based on requests from large customers, government agencies and the military. The 8800 doesn't have a camera. I guess it is not being marketed to the gadget and phone junkies. It is still a business device.... And not one of the 1500 BB users in house has ever asked for video. Many of them don't want the camera in the Pearl!
Just food for thought. Remember RIMs primary market. And yes, it may have video recording. And A2DP, and a whole bunch of other consumer items. And it may not.

id trade the camera and whatever kind of recording for A2DP. Phone cameras are junk, wireless headphones are useful!

Cam is a gimmick...
Good for taking quick pics of something, can be useful for some jobs...
But, I have to say, I like having it on the Pearl....
End up using it all the time...

I miss not being able to take pics on the go.. yea pointless pics at the Bar usually but always worth a laugh or two the next day.
I can do without video recording though. Not much use for it. Just the pic ability I'll be happy with.

One thing to remember about a camera phone. In certain places you are not allowed to take a camera. Court houses are one that drops to mind. If your phone has a camera on it, some places will make you lock it up or leave it in the car.
Since blackberry has mostly been a business device, some biz users don't want a camera so they can carry their phone whereever.

If made available by their corporate carrier, assuming RIM has produced 2 versions of the same model. We're not talkin' Treos here.

Yeah it would be nice and simple if all carriers had 4 blackberries. 2 full qwerty - 1 cam 1 without 2 suretypes 1 cam and 1 without.

From a business stainpoint I'd never use the camera or video. But I'm sure I'd end up using it all the time. Those self portrait pics of me celebrating after my team scores would be awesome to send to my buddies!
Hey all work and no play .......

I would love video. I get e-mails all day from my wife that she takes of the kids as she picks them up from school, do silly things like cover their face in ketchup, etc. My wife loves being able to send pictures, and I think adding video would be awesome. The 8100/8300 are consumer devices, and as such aren't being marketed to the stuff shirts that the 8800/etc. are.

To me whether the camera or video is super quality or not. Its great to have it available if you want a quick video or picture.
